Figure Wishlist 2011

There are tons of great figures being released in 2011. I have no idea why, but I thought I'd make a little list of them for funsies.

Caster from Fate/Extra:

Pre-Order Price= $77 USD, to be released late November.

Mio from Strike Witches (Alter version):

Pre-Order Price= $80 USD, to be released late December.

Little Busters Rin Natsume (Kotobukiya):

Pre-Order Price= $79 USD, to be released late November.

Strike Witches Minna (Kotobukiya):

Pre-Order Price= $70 USD, to be released late October.

There are also quite a few figures that are already in circulation that I'm rather in love with.

Noumi Kudryavka from Little Busters! :

Price= $51 USD from Mandrake.

Miku Orchestra:

Price= $20 USD from Ebay. Most likely bootleg, but nice bootleg version of it.

Melissa Seraphy from Wagamama Capriccio:

Price=$104 USD from Mandrake.

*Sigh* They are all so very very pretty and wonderful. If only I had monies to invest in some of them. I really really REALLY want pre-order Mio and Caster. Their designs are so fantastic.

Cool is Relative.

This is a note to say that I have possibly the best boyfriend in the whole world. About two weeks ago while browsing the net, I came across the cutest anime figure of Matsuri from Strawberry Marshmallow dressed as a Veterinarian. Not only is this a great find because of the rarity of finding a figure (let alone anything) from the manga/show Strawberry Marshmallow, but it combines two of my favorite things, anime and veterinary medicine.

While there are several instances of junctions between those two things (Rik from Di Gi Charat, Dobutsu no o-Isha san, Wildlife ), they are so few are far between that it's hardly worth mentioning. So, imagine my surprise and joy when I happened upon this figure celebrating the two worlds, and then my subsequent depression when I found out that the figure which had been released in 2006 was no longer available ANYWHERE! Ebay, every figure site imaginable, google...NO LUCK TO BE FOUND!

That's when the lovely Pyro-kun swooped in and found it on a japanese site similar to ebay called Rakuten under a title that I never would have suspected to look under. He is just amazing like that. So, if you are reading Pyro-kun, thank you, and I love you!

Below is a picture of the figure:

*Happy sigh*
Now, back to ABLEs. Ugh.

Countdown:
Summer: 39 Days, 1 Physiology Exam, 1 Microanatomy Exam, 2 Anatomy Quizzes, and an Epi Homwork.

In the Works

It's time to take a little break from studying for the Anatomy Quiz to bring you a cosplay update. If anyone reads this blog, which I am pretty sure they don't, they either read it for my anime/manga/cosplay geek content or my vet school content. So, those of you on the vet school front, feel free to sit this little blog out. It's not that I don't love vet school, but sometimes I have to take a little break from thinking about it all or I will lose what's left of my mind.

I am currently pondering three different cosplays for this upcoming year (most likely AWA 2011):

1. Shiny Ponyta

This cosplay is on the definite list for AWA 2011. This will be yet another special effects pokemon gijinka in our cosplay series. The plans include using fiber optics in the tail and mane, probably in the form of Glowby's. Additionally, like Pyro's Charizard tail flames, the flames on Ponyta's legs shall also be rigged with LEDs and fans to blow them. If I have time, I plan to make a pair of Hoof Boots for the cosplay as well to give the hoof the right "horse" shape and the clip-clop walking. <3

2. Angel from Lilo and Stitch

This cosplay has consumed me for several days now. I'm just so in love with the idea because I love Lilo and Stitch (especially Stitch). I thought this set would make a fantastic couple's cosplay for me and Pyro. Attached below are some rough sketch drafts of the cosplay's design:

3. Cammy from Street Fighter II

This has long been one of my dream cosplays. I still remember vividly to this day playing the Marvel vs. Capcom arcade game in the Pizza Hut by where I grew up. Cammy was always one of my favorites. Now, whether I have the moxy to pull this cosplay off, I have yet to decide.

Also, I officially have 8 Exams, 5 Quizzes(4 left after tomorrow), and 5 Finals until school is out for the summer in 73 days.

There are also now 14 days left until Spring Break....THANK YOU GOD!
