Dear Sleep.

Dear Sleep,

I miss you. Please come back soon. I know that exams are driving you away, but I hope that we can stay good friends after the exams leave.

Yours Truly,
Dysfunctional Kitsune

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Virology Final today was pretty brutal. I have no idea how it will turn out, but I hope it turns out for the best. Physio final is in the morning at 9am. I still have 4 chapters to cover and no idea how it will ever happen. Epi is on Friday following a week's worth of lack of sleep. If I can make it to Friday at 11am, I think I may well have sheltered this horrific storm.

This image makes me think she's saying something like, "BUT I MADE IT TO VET SCHOOL! PLEASE DON'T TAKE IT AWAY FROM ME!"

The Final Countdown-4 DAYS!!!! (3 Finals Left):

Thursday: Physiology Final >_<
Friday: Epidemiology Final T_T
Saturday: Move to a new Apartment.
Sunday: Study for Parasitology
Monday: Parasitology Final
Tuesday-Sunday: Sweet Freedom.
Monday: Back to work at the clinic.

Goodbye, Anatomy.

Anatomy has come and gone. Thanks to the good will of our teacher, the final turned out much better than suspected. This left me to regret not putting more time into Physiology and Epi, but I'm happy to escape anatomy with a B. Tomorrow, I have my virology final which I haven't gone over too much. I don't suspect horrible difficulties, but I'm not terribly excited about being so unprepared. I also regret that tomorrow means I must spend the whole day and night studying Physio to try and catch up. >_< Here's to long nights!

The Final Countdown-5 DAYS!!!!:
Wednesday: Virology Final
Thursday: Physiology Final >_<
Friday: Epidemiology Final T_T
Saturday: Move to a new Apartment.
Sunday: Study for Parasitology
Monday: Parasitology Final
Tuesday-Sunday: Sweet Freedom.
Monday: Back to work at the clinic.

2 Weeks, 2 Exams, and 1 Quiz...

These are all the things that separate me from MTAC 2011, my 8th MTAC.

This would be the perfect launch into the "look at how far I've come" topic, but I will digress as I have a very important Reproductive Physiology exam tomorrow that I must study for. ^-^ Another time, try not to be disappointed.

The days of this semester are winding down. Today marks the the 32 days left of my first year mark. While I find it hard to believe that time is passing quickly when I'm in the midst of it, I realize from a distance exactly how fast time is really moving. All I can think at this moment is COMMON 25%!!!!! There is simply no use in trying to look at something in such a wide expanse of time. It drives you crazy and, ultimately, proves rather pointless. I have rapidly become a short-term goals person which, if you had known me before vet school, is a far cry from the years and year that I had planned out on paper before this point. Sometimes, you just have to throw it all out and think about things on a small scale. One quiz, one test, one day, one week.

I don't know if I can get past 2nd year, but I do know that I can pass one test at a time, dealing with the rest as I get there. Far too many people throw their lives and sanity away striving for something that, in the end, ceases to have meaning anyway. No matter where you are in your lives, try to live for one hour and one day. Get through it as you get to it. You may not get there first, but you will get there, and, when you do, you won't be nearly as tired as the others that I have beat you there.

To keep rambling in an attempt to avoid my inevitable reunion with the physiology book, I would also like to state that April 16th is the vet school open house. I attended the open house about two years ago before I had gotten into vet school, and I decided that if I got in, I would volunteer to work it. So, here I am, working my first vet school open house. ^-^

I'll be working the Canine Parade of Breeds section this year, handling my adopted Pomeranian for the day. (I didn't get Dexter signed up in time, unfortunately.) It should be a real blast, so if you are in the Knoxville area on April 16th from 8am-4pm, please drop by the vet school and check it out.

Countdown:
Summer: 32 days, 1 Physiology Exam, 1 Microanatomy Exam, 1 Anatomy Quiz, and 5 Finals.
MTAC: 14 days, 1 Physiology Exam, 1 Microanatomy Exam, and 1 Anatomy Quiz.

THIS IS VET SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay. So, so my Sparta war cry is a shade lamer than the original. Cut me some slack though, how do you really make this interesting?

In 3 more days, I'll be eating dinner back at home with my family and packing to head to New Orleans on Sunday. Just 3 more days. Three brutal, unforgiving, lackluster, miserable, awful, horrible, mind-racking, soul-crushing days.

The second part of the physiology quiz is in the morning. I can't say I'm ready for it. I'm never ready for anything. It seems like a sad, recurring trend that is out to get me. No matter what I do or how I budget time, there just isn't enough in the day. So, it looks like another night without sleep for me. Goody.

On Friday, I have my 2nd Anatomy Exam. It's like physio only complete with pits of lava to navigate and giant man-eating sharks with lasers on their heads. I can't think about that right now though. For now, it's physio.

The Countdown:
Spring Break- 3 days, a Physio Quiz, and an Anatomy Exam.
MTAC 2011- 45 days.
Summer 2011- 62 days, 6 Exams, 3 Quizzes, and 5 Finals.

Since I Was a Little Kitten...

...I had a dream.

It's days like this that only watching Cats Don't Dance will suffice to ease my pain. Unfortunately, I don't have Cats Don't Dance up here with me. Forgive me while I go into a dark corner and be emo for several hours.

The past two weeks hav been most terrible, most terrible indeed. It started last Thursday with an Anatomy quiz from hell that I ended up making a 7.5/15 on. Yes, that is a 50%. As the class has very few points in total, it was a devastating blow to my average which is now a 68. (I feel I can be honest with anyone that reads this. I'm not going to pretend to be better than I am, afterall.) I have no idea how I'm going to pull my average up. I would have to make grades on the remaining 2 quizzes, exam, and final that I haven't made yet. Just pray for me. I really need it.

The horrible streak continued with the Epidemiology Mid-term on Friday after my two hours of sleep. I don't know how I did as we haven't gotten it back, but I just hope that I got a C on it. The Parasitology exam on Monday wasn't too bad in itself, but the continuing sleep deprivation finally paid its toll on the Physiology quiz on Wednesday. 40 questions in 30 minutes in a class that takes me longer to process than any other one. I didn't even get to finish the blasted thing! I just filled in circles to turn it in on time. Worst part? Round two is next Wednesday, and together they count for 25% of our final Physio grade.

I hate to rant and whine. I just feel so stupid and useless. I feel like everyone is doing better than me despite how hard I try. I just want to pass this semester and move onto next semester. I can't salvage this shipwreck and turn it into a polished turd. I just want to hit shore so that I can board the next ship, but I'm so tired of trying to scoop water out of this sinking hell hole. I can't stay ahead.

Now, back to Anatomy.

Countdown:
Spring Break in 9 Days, a Physio quiz, and an Anatomy Exam.
Summer Break (a.k.a.- Sweet Serenity) in 66 Days, 6 Exams, 3 Quizzes, and 5 Finals.

Physiology is the Devil.

I currently feel like this (See picture below):

It's been a long day. I'm tired, I'm crabby, and I have a Physiology test tomorrow over GI function which means I will be able to resolve none of the issues listed above tonight. >_< So...Here's my token whine post. WAHHHHHH!

I will spend a majority of the next 12 hours studying, curled into a tiny ball, and feeling sorry for myself. Look's like my night is all planned out.

Magical Bowl of Candy

The second year class left our class a magical bowl of candy to make our Halloween happier. This was the bright spot in a long day of classes. I have an immunology test Friday which is really not a huge issue as she's relatively straight-forward. I also have a physiology test Monday with about 40% of the material on the test being covered in 3 lectures tomorrow. The teacher for that class has missed a lot of lectures and basically left all of us out in the cold for the test on Monday. It doesn't help that this exam is 28% of our final grade too. Oh well. Something will work out.

Great Halloween Weekend ahead.
